Roman Brooch - 1st to 2nd C

A new field, a new adventure. Five hours later I had only found a half-penny of George V and then this brooch came out. After a bit of research I found what I was looking for in "Ancient and Romano - British Brooches" by R Hattat, and the item is a trumpet-headed fantail brooch - 1st - 2nd C, decoration Celtic. It was a very nice find indeed. I have been back but the field seems to be devoid of finds of any sort. There must be a logical explanation why the brooch was found in this barren field. I will let this one pass.
