Brass Butterfly - Possibly Victorian

This rather large brass butterfly was a bit of a mystery when found but I have decided it must be a very posh paperclip. It is certainly well made and both sides are identical. It really is amazing the things which are found. I know soil is moved up and down the country, including in the past nightsoil. I really do enjoy my time out detecting and thinking about the history of things.
