Edward IV Groat - 1464 (What Are The Odds?)

I received a good signal, dug it out and it was a cut half of Edward IV groat 1464. I was chuffed to say the least but couldn't help thinking who had spoilt a great coin by cutting it in half and with that I tucked it away safely and said out loud "I shall have to find your other half". 20 yards on another signal and out popped the other half. I couldn't believe it. I do now. I could only think that at some time in the past there may have been a sort of car boot sale on the field where junk is passed on again the week after and so on and somewhere amongst the shuffling of items the two halves were lost by two separate persons and waiting for me to reunite them.
